Doctor Who - First Doctor

However, by no means has the use of Victorian-esque trousers been confined to period pieces!

Perhaps the most popular (and consistent) champion of Victorian/Edwardian fashion is the Doctor from Doctor Who, as many of his incarnations have embraced those fashion trends with his costumes.

Right from the show's beginning, the First Doctor (played by William Hartnell) wore yellow-ish trousers with what, from a distance, appeared to be a rectangular dark (black?) type of plaid pattern:

However, upon closer inspection, the First Doctor's trousers fabrics were actually an unique style of houndstooth, in which the "teeth" were multiple colors and the dark ones formed the rectangular grid pattern!

The First Doctor's trousers had slant pockets in the front, and a "regular"/flat hem (no cuffs).
