Period movies, part 2

Of course, period movies featuring Victorian-esque fashion weren't limited to those set or based in Europe!

Trousers have been commonly seen in American westerns, including western "spoofs" and misadventures such as Back to the Future 3, as evidenced by those worn by Doc Brown (played by Christopher Lloyd) below:

Movies set during the American Civil War also tend to feature characters wearing period trousers; for example, throughout the classic Gone with the Wind, Rhett Butler (played by Clark Gable) wore trousers with his costumes:

Even period movies set in a sort of imaginary, fantasy/revisionist/alternate universe/graphic-novel-esque adaptation of the general era have often featured Victorian-esque costumes, such as the trousers worn by Allan Quatermain (played by Sean Connery) in The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, which was set in 1899:

Quatermain wore a thick belt (complete with ammunition loops - pretty badass!) with his trousers:

His trousers also had reinforced side pockets:

In the same movie, Dorian Gray (played by Stuart Townsend) also wore high-waisted trousers with his snazzy costume:

Trousers aren't just seen on the big screen; many television period pieces have characters wearing them!

For instance, in the Lost episode "Ab Aeterno," Richard Alpert (played by Nestor Carbonell) was seen in the mid/late-1800s wearing trousers:
